Bye Bye Dry

in Did you know?

With the air turning brisk and the sun shining less, our skin will need extra attention as the seasons turn from hot to cold. Using seed oils is a way to get the moisture back into your skin as well as giving it the nutrients it needs. A few seed oils I like to use are Grapeseed oil, Sweet Almond oil and Sesame seed oil.

Almond Oil is pale yellow oil that is very close to the oil found in naturally skin. It contains nutrients of oleic and palmitic acid. It is great for eczema and it softens wrinkles around the eyes. This oil does leave an oily residue that makes it perfect if you have extremely dry skin.

Grapeseed Oil has a light aroma and no color. It contains nutrients of Vitamin F or linoleic acid and is polyunsaturated. It is great as a mild astringent for acne or oily skin and is quickly absorbed into the skin leaving no residue.

Sesame Seed Oil is pale yellow and tends to be greasy. It contains nutrients of lecithin and is high in oleic and linoleic acid. It is a quality lubricant for rheumatic conditions, eczema and dry skin.

Try one of these oils on your skin this winter instead of lotion. I love to use them as soon as I finish with my bath. Before drying off, apply oils to skin and pat, or (if you’re feeling adventurous) air dry. You will see a wonderful difference in the way your skin feels and your skin will thank you.
